ibd - Just Gel Nail Polish Review

Well for the first time in years, I got my nails done today. Having heard so much good stuff about Gels and recommendations from friends that have use them, I decided to treatment myself.
The main reason behind it was that I am a nail picker ( note - not a nail biter! ) as when I get bored or anxious, I pick them and because they are so soft too I have a trouble actually growing them.

Where I work, we have a Champneys Day Spa and a few weeks back they launched a new product for their manicures - ibd Just Gels.  Now as I never had gels before I couldn't compare these with any others at the moment but one advantage ibd has that my therapist - Georgina said is different to other gels out there is that these gels are actually all gel and not a combination of gel with nail polish in them. I guess this actually makes them harder and last longer?

Georgina gave me a section of the catalogue that tells us about ibd and what they do;

ibd Just Gel Polish are strong, 100%pure gel formula that wears like a classic true gel. Applied just like a polish,  with richer and more even colour. The gel is versatile which cures quickly under either UV or LED light. The gel also protects the natural nail with stronger long lasting wear which is chip free.

Alot of my colleagues have had them over the last couple of weeks too and have raved about them.

I for one at the moment is very pleased with them. The colours are amazing and definitely a colour for everyone. The finish is perfect and I love the feel of them. I have been told they last from 2-3 weeks so will update you later on how they perform and how easy to get off.

I think I will definitely get these again though and look forward to actually growing some nails.

My colour I had was in glitter - Fireworks.

Champney's Beautiful Bump Treatment

This is my second pregnancy, but after having 3 MC's in between and working in retail standing most of the time, I decided I would treat myself to a much needed relaxing treatment.

This is of course my first ever treatment too!I had a little idea what to expect, and was rather excited to finally give a treatment ago. Being 7 months pregnant, I thought I go for the full 1 hour treatment, which consisted of a back massage ( sitting of course ), leg and foot massage and a head massage.

The treatment took place in the Champneys Spa in Boots, Milton Keynes, which is situated on the 1st floor. The Blissful Bump Treatment is available at the Champneys Resorts as well more info can be found here www.champneys.com
 I've never been to Champneys before, but I guess the interior designs are very similar with a vintage/modern look to the spa. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, as one would expect and offered me a hot or cold drink whilst the room was being prepared and for me to fill out a new client card.

My therapist was Georgina, who again was very lovely and explained everything to me before hand.
The therapy room felt relaxing, almost at home/luxury hotel feel to it. The music was lovely and tranquil too.

The treatment started of with the sitting back massage, and my god did I need it. I knew I had a knot or something in my back/shoulder from standing at work for long periods but the one on my left was a big knot. It felt so good to have it eased out, and my back and shoulders have felt amazing since. My bump than was given an oil and butter wrap whilst Georgina than did a leg and foot massage, which again I so needed. I could do with one of these after work every day. The treatment than finished with a head massage which was bless, I actually nearly fell asleep by this point.http://girliegossip.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/pregnancy-beauty-products.jpg

The products used were amazing, and formulated especially for pregnant women. The range is called Blissful Bump.What surprised me the most and was very happy to see, is that the products do not contain any Parabans, SLS's or Paraffin oils. As someone who uses everyday skincare and body products without these ingredients in, I was very happy.
 I believe the oil was used everywhere, than the oil and body butter was applied to my bump.
The range can be brought in the Baby section of Boots too and consists of the Stretch Mark Oil, Room Spray, Body Butter, Shower Creme or purchased as Gift Sets.
Obviously I had to purchase the products as they smell so amazing, and of course extends the treatment experience into the home. I got the Oil, Body Butter as a duo gift set, the room spray and shower creme.

I would definitely recommend any pregnant women to have this treatment at some stage in the pregnancy.

P.S Just an update to the post - I got commented on by a Midwife the other day when I had to go in for a check up, how nice I smelt. I mentioned it was the Champneys Blissful Bump range and told her some of the oils used in it and she mentioned she could smell some of the oils and how nice it was.

Tipp Ex - How to get rid of it on clothing

I have just to share this amazing tip with your guys. After spilling pasta sauce down the front of my pure white work trousers today, someone suggested using Tipp Ex to camouflage the stain whilst at work till I get home to sort it out.

Silly me didn't think that Tipp Ex would be problem in getting it off my clothes did I?!

So after battling with the pasta sauce stain with suitable stain removers, and yes that stain was fine to get out.
I was left with a lovely Tipp Ex mark still.

So a good friend of mine found a tip on how to get it removed and it does work!

White Spirit!

It suggests to use a cotton bud and work from outside inwards on the Tipp Ex stain but after doing that for about 5 mins and still had a big stain to get though, i just tipped a load onto the actual stain and used a fresh cleaning sponge using the scrubber side. When in minutes the Tipp Ex had totally gone.

So there you go - White Spirit removes Tipp Ex from clothes.

Cheese Chase 3 in 1 Cat Toy - Best Investment I have made LOL

I had to write to a blog about this fab cat toy as it so improved my cats behaviour problems.

Last year we acquired our 2nd cat after my dad's girlfriend cat had a litter last May. Being a boy, Tom is much more of an active cat than my other female cat when she was a kitten. Living in flat on the second floor doesn't give him much space to explore and run around and after having months of our cats going crazy, I have finally found something to keep them a little more occupied and entertained.

The Cheese Chase 3 in 1 Cat Toy.

The Cheese Chase 3-in-1 Cat Toy by Petstages is three fun activities for three times the playing pleasure for your cat.
  1. The outer blue translucent ball track offers hours of chasing fun for your cat;
  2.  The yellow middle part is supposed to look like a Swiss Cheese centre offering a challenge and interest with another ball to chase;
  3. On top in the centre is a plush catnip filled mouse on spring for frenzied play times.
I intended this when buying the toy for Tom as he loves getting his nose and paws down anything that has holes or a gap and is a very curious cat. Tabitha whom is 5 is a very relaxed cat and really didn't think she would take interest in this. However, despite Tom totally ignoring the catnip filled mouse, Tabitha loves it and visa-versa, Tom loves the balls, Tabitha on the other hand isn't too interested in them.
Tom has also got quite protective over the toy.

When I brought this, both the cats were playing with it for nearly an hour before they stopped, and continued to play it on and off though out the rest of the day. Each day since than, both the cats have been much less crazy running around and enjoying playing with this fab toy instead for hours on end.

I would shop around though - as prices do differ. I got this from Pets @ Home for £13. However, check on Ebay and Amazon.
